Reliability (High availability) accessories:
Some applications may require a computer that has some level of fault
tolerance, all our models can be upgraded with different fault tolerance
components / configurations:
Hard drive mirroring (RAID): When one HD fails,
the second will provide the data. This happens automatically without user
intervention. The mirroring works in real-time making, an identical copy of
the active hard drive in the backup hard drive.
Solid State Hard drive:
These hard drives do not contain moving parts. Similar to digital camera
memory, these hard drives store the information on chips that are more shock
resistant than a hard drive.
Note that we always use shock resistant hard
drives (notebook type) but in some circumstances, a more rugged type of hard
drive is required.
Backup battery: Work as a UPS, providing energy when the
main line fails. With the help of our Smart power supply, we can switch to
the backup battery. Our backup batteries are designed for our ITM computers
and have a much smaller size compared with regular marine or RV batteries.
Note that these batteries can't be used for other electronics. Backup
batteries can also be used to prevent the PC from shutting down during
engine start.
Dual PC / dual PSU: Provide backup processing in the case of a
general computer failure. In this configuration, both computers are feed
with the data from the different sources allowing continuous application
operation.
